Botanical study of an orchid

Orchids are by far my favourite type of flower, not only for their beauty, but for their sheer variety.

This was a study done with ink on vellum of a typical supermarket variety phalaenopsis. I only used stippling with a black pen to portray shape, texture, and to some extent colour.

Fun fact, I am an orchid hobbyist, and wll try growing many types of orchids in my home!
